Meet JJ Gilmour
You know what its like, your packing for a trip and the phone rings. The last thing you want is a conversation. You need to get that bag packed. the secret of course is not to take too much stuff with you. Travelling light becomes an art. Take enough to get you by for a few days them be ready to wash a shirt or two out and let them dry. the secret is if you keep the case light you can take it into the plane with you and when you get out at te other end there's no waiting for the baggage. Your out and away. Anyway that's the theory. this trip will be different, rae has been given etra luggage allowance by the airline. this will let us take some extra supplies for the orphanage.
Oh yes , I told you the phone rang. Well on the other end was a good friend of mine, Graeme Duffin, the fifth member of the Wets. " What are you doing tonight?", he asks. I tell him I'm getting ready to go to India in the morning he then tells me he's playing in Linlithgow with JJ Gilmour former lead ll singer with the Silencers. " I'll leave a couple of tickets at the door if you can make it". I couldn't resist a free ticket from Duffin. So what of the gig you ask? Well I took Stephen with me and both of us were well well impressed. I don't know why this guy doesn't get more air plays. Jinky as he is known to his fans has an amazing songwriting talent and a fantastic voice. Now when that was coupled with Graeme Duffin's outstanding talent, you can't help but have a good night. So thank you Graeme for inviting me over the hill to Linlithgow tonight and thank you Jinky for your songs and your patter. You made my evening.
