I received a marvellous text from a friend yesterday. It simply read, 'Praise God when your waiting in the hallway' It was such an evocative idea. In the places between places we need to learn to praise God. It lifted my spirits and I started to think.

We must not look upon our problems a insurmountable

We must not look upon our friendships as stepping stones

We must nor look upon those who we disagree with as enemies

We must not look upon the journey we are called to make as impossible

We must not look upon our situations as irreconcilable

We must not look upon our word as the last one

We must not look upon ourselves as infallible

We must not look upon our resources as finite

We must not look upon our history as meaningless

We must not look upon our Saviour as powerless

We must not look upon our Father as uncaring

We must not look upon the Spirit having departed

But rather we must all rise up each day to our daily tasks

To live in the power of the resurrection

To look to the rock from which we were hewn

To live out the gospel

To chase out fear

To put on holiness

To become obedient sons and daughters

For in so doing we will encounter the Holy Spirit

Bringing healing to our church and nation
