Sunday touched lives
We broke into discussion groups and had a session thinking around the consequences if we had no police to keep law and order. we then showed a clip reflecting on the reign of terror Idi Amine . Included in this clip was an interview with Rita Nkemba, the Ugandan leader of Dwelling Places. She tells an amazing story of how her father escaped death but his colleague was murdered. we used this to illustrate the extent to which the human condition can fall. We finally showed a clip of a bag lady talking about the shear physical pain of feeling the cold. We entered into a discussion about the difficulty of getting back home once your on the street.
Final i introduced the cross as God's way of helping people get back home. we invited people to come forward and pin to the cross the things that were stopping them from developing their relationship with God. it was quite a profound moment for a number of people. i've been following up responses to the service this week.
