The Cross and the Clock

Everything happens in God's time. I locked the door of the church last night and handed the congregation over to the leadership of my good friend Peter Neilson. What a great day of celebration Sunday turned out to be. First of all it was wonderful to have Elisa back again on the keyboards and Jimmy and Ian back to help with the worship. We are blessed with our current worship group Graeme Trudie and Craig however having some additional musicians added to the excitement and expectation of the worship. I want to express my thanks to all who made the effort to give me such a magnificent send off. Martha and I We're truly overwhelmed by the love and support that the congregation have given us as we prepare to take up this new role of service for the church nationally. Sunday will stay in my mind for a long time. What joy it was to admit five new members to the congregation, baptise two teenagers as well as a six year old, and then have the opportunity of welcoming a whole family into the congregation as they brought three of heir children to be blessed as a first step towards a baptism. All of this reminded me that St Andrew's Bo'ness is about making sure that we have a place for everyone. We used to have a motto " A place where everyone counts" I think it's still a relevant motto to have as we seek to be open to the needs of so many different people. Why not check out something of the excitement of the day. Go to www.standonline.org.uk the click on the Media button and make you choice of service. Now that Peter's in charge I'm freed up to start preparing for my forth coming duties. I'm having a few days visiting Gibralter. This is an opportunity to connect with the Board of Vine Trust Gibralter and to hear about their plans for e refurbishment of our third ship. Our plan is to see if we can put it on Lake Victoria as a working Medical Ship. This project will be part of the Vine Trust's contribution to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. So look out for some posts and tweets from the Rock over the next few days. Well it's time to sign off. I'm up early in the morning to catch a flight to Gibralter. So it's good night from italker signing off in London full of expectation looking forward to what God has planned for all of us this coming year.

Albert, I know that you will be way too busy to reply to this, but want to wish you well as you prepare for an important year ahead.  Please be assured of my prayers throughout that the LORD will truly bless you, and use you as a blessing to others along the way, in this country and wherever He calls you to serve overseas.
