We continue to clock up the miles I think we've covered over 1000 mikes since we left Cape Town on Tuesday morning. We now begin the descent down the very rocky road from our little mountain retreat.
The Morija Guest House is an interesting place to visit.I talk with Bernard a world renowned French Palentologist who tells me he discovered the remains of an eight metre long Dinasaur in this vicinity last year.
He has returned this summer to oversea the packing...

Blue sky horizon
An African afternoon
Woman and men work
On the road
In the hot sun
Personalities hidden
Beneath orange boiler suits
Faces melt
covered in black woollen hats
We view from afar
Our eyes never meet
We too are hidden
White faces
Peering from a white refrigerated car
The sun deflects our stare
The sign says stop
The workers spread the tar
Road building takes time
And this is Africa
How we wish

It was Wednesday morning I was up early just after 7.00am. We could hear the sound of children's voices as they made their way to school. We continue on the next leg of our journey. The thing is we just got news that the person we wanted to see in Lesotho is not going to be available to see us. I don't know the whole story but as Willie says, "A wee enforced rest will do us no harm". Most of the day we spend in the car covering over 300 miles.
We take a break for an...

Today we strike out on our own to explore South Africa. We've hired a car and we're heading out on the Garden Route we hope to reach Jo'burgh by Saturday . It looks like a 1000 mile trip. It will be interesting to reflect on the experiences we encounter.
Willie and Duncan move out of our flat early to pick up the car. It turns out to be a brand new Honda it looks like a Civic to me. Its really comfortable to travel in. This is an add on few days to chill out after the...

I guess I've been asking the question when does a Missiology become an effective Movement? How do you bring about a tipping point? Looking around the collection of people here at Cape Town I found myself short of answers but with many questions. However if you get to the end of this post you may find me in a more positive state of mind. The Third Lausanne Congress came to an end with an amazing Communion Service involving over 190 nations. The music was spectacular...

Today we were given a research document that outlines the number of people groups in the world who have never heard the Gospel. Many of these groups don't have a language that has been written down. In other words people of an oral tradition.
This means that although we as Christians emphasise the importance of everyone having the Scriptures in their hands it means for these people to understand they need to be engaged by people who understand the oral tradition....

We met up with a group of quite wonderful strangers who shared a day of their lives with us and it was a lit of fun. Much of the success was due to our amazing your guide. From the moment we entered the little 12 seater tour bus she wad determine to make the visit to the Stillen Bosch Winelands a memorable one.
We picked up our companions on the route. We ended up two Swedish woman involved with medical research and nursing. A young French lad who is a drilling...
